    تتمثل أهداف التقييم الرئيسية في: (أ) تقييم أداء إطار التعاون الإقليمي وتحديد النتائج الإنمائية المجهزة في مجالات تقديم المشورة المتعلقة بالسياسات، وتنمية القدرات، وإدارة المعارف ضمن مجالات النتائج الأساسية التي يُركز البرنامج الإقليمي عليها، وكذا تقييم نطاق ومدى الشراكات الاستراتيجية التي تم إنشاؤها؛ (ب) تقدير المدى الذي وصل إليه إنجاز أهداف المنظمة والنتائج الإنمائية المتوخاة، مع تسليط الضوء على النتائج الرئيسية فيما يتعلق بالنواتج والمنجزات، والدروس المكتسبة، والممارسات الحسنة؛ (ج) والانطلاق من النتائج الفعلية للتحقق من الكيفية التي أسهم بها إطار التعاون الإقليمي في أن يجعل برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في وضع استراتيجي لإثبات مزيته أو مكانته النسبية كجهة عليا لتقييم المشورة في مجال السياسات المتعلقة بالحد من الفقر والتنمية البشرية المستدامة، ومنظمة عمادها العلم والمعرفة في المنطقة؛ (د) التحقق من درجة الابتكار بين المبادرات المضطلع بها في سياق حافظة المشاريع المبرمجة في نطاق إطار التعاون الإقليمي وما حققته من قيمة مضافة، وإسهامها في بناء المعارف وتبادلها داخل نطاق برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي ومع بلدان البرامج؛ (هـ) ووضع توصيات محددة بشأن البرنامج الإقليمي التالي للدول العربية.
